Ski trip bag

About a month ago, my family took a weekend trip to the Snowshoe Mountain ski resort in lower southeast West Va. My hubby loves to ski & snowboard. My son wanted to learn. Me? I was to be the snowbunny...minus the skis. (I have no desire to throw my body down the side of a very steep mountain, thank you.) Anyways, I planned to take pictures of my son learning to ski and walk around and shop in the resort's village. I needed an across-the-body purse to carry my camera, phone and wallet, but still have my hands free for sipping hot cocoa from the Starbucks located there. Hmmm - none to be found in my last minute 'get the trip supplies' Wal-Mart run. Then I remembered an little article I read about fashion models snapping up vintage camera cases to use as such bags. I wandered over to the photo departmant in Wal-Mart and found a camera case (although not vintage, lol!) that would work perfectly! It has a little handle on top if I wanted to hand carry my bag and an adjustable strap that went cross-body. It was water-resistant (which proved nice with the falling snow at our resort destination) and was the perfect size for my essentials. Plus, I think it cost me all of $10!

Here are some pics from our trip, as well. Braxton keeps bugging us to go back. Somehow, I see another trip before the ski season ends...
